Gitzo Ball Heads

These Ball Heads feature a good range of motion:

• Lateral Tilt: +90 to -10 Degrees
• Vertical Tilt: Models G075 and G175 (10/10 Degrees), all other Ball Heads (360 Degrees)
• Rotation: 360 Degrees

The graduated base, with independent locking facilities permits perfect panoramic photography. The design of the panoramic base permits these Ball heads to be used for table top or near ground level work, even without the use of a tripod.

A Quick Release Plate with secondary safety lock and the option of a Long Plate provide additional flexibility on '76 series Heads. This includes the Models G1276, G1376, and G1576. A camera or spotting telescope can be removed from the Head within seconds and fitted back onto the Head just as easily.

This Standard Quick Release Plate can be attached to a camera, binocular tripod adapter, or spotting telescope with no tools. An index pin is provided on the Quick Release Platforms to help maintain the orientation of the attached accessory i.e. reduce any left to right movement of the item as it is handled or directed onto a target. Once attached, the adapter can be left in place. If so desired, additional adapters may be purchased to permit the quick interchange of numerous items. In addition, optional Quick Release Plates up to 4" length are available for use with one or two fixing points (using the 1/4" or 3/8" Fixing Screws) for short telescopes or ultra telephoto lenses. A complete Quick Release Adapter (including Dovetail and Plate) are available for Series 1, 2, 3, and 5 heads.

At the left is illustrated the Model G175 Ball Head (not to scale). The Model G075 Head and the Model G175 Head appear very similar, apparently differing only in scale. Note the circular platform. These two heads are suitable for a 35mm camera with a normal, 105mm or shorter focal length telephoto lens, a wide angle lens, or a lightweight binocular.

To the right is illustrated the Model 1276 Ball Head 2 (not to scale); note the quick release mechanism on the platform. The Model G1275 Head and Model G1276 Head are similar, differing only in that the G1276 indicates the Head Platform incorporates a female dovetail to accept a Model G1173 Quick Release Plate (furnished standard in 1/4, a 3/8" screw fitting is optional). These two heads are suitable for a 6x6cm format camera with standard lens, or 35mm camera with a normal, wide angle, 200mm or shorter focal length super telephoto lens, lightweight binocular, or compact spotting telescope (of about 80mm or less aperture).

The Model G1375 Head and Model G1376 are similar, differing only in that the G1376 indicates the Head Platform incorporates a female dovetail to accept a Model G1372 Quick Release Plate (furnished standard in 1/4, a 3/8" screw fitting is optional). These two heads are suitable for a 6x6cm format camera with a 200mm lens, or 6x7cm camera with 200mm lens, or 35mm camera with a normal, fisheye, wide angle, or 300mm or shorter focal length super telephoto lens, or a binocular, or compact spotting telescope.

The Model G1575 Head and Model G1576 are similar, differing only in that the G1576 indicates the Head Platform incorporates a female dovetail to accept a Model G1372 Quick Release Plate (furnished standard in 1/4, a 3/8" screw fitting is optional). These two heads are suitable for a 4x5 inch or 5x7 in. or 8x10 in. format view cameras, 4 x 5 in. Field camera, 6x6cm format camera with a 300mm lens, or 6x7cm camera with 300mm lens, or 35mm camera with a normal, fisheye, wide angle, or 600mm or shorter focal length ultra telephoto lens, or a binocular, or spotting telescope.

A 1/4" (K) screw fitting is supplied as standard with each Head however, 3/8" (C) fittings are also available on request, or as an accessory.
