PIER ACCESSORY: MODELS "TRAY 08", "TRAY 10", AND SUPPORT BAR "SB"

For use with the Model 1200 Mount Pier or the Model 900 Mount Pier
Each pier tray support bar (TRAYSB) attaches to one of the holes at the top of the pier post and can hold two (2) trays (TRAY08 or TRAY10), one above the other. The trays slip into TRAYSB without the need fr use of any tools, by means of a dovetail. The tray can remain firmly in place during your observing session, and then can be quickly and easily removed if you must disassemble the system at the end of your session. The component TRAYSB can remain permanently attached to your pier post.
These handy trays will keep accessories close at hand during your observing sessions. In addition to serving as a storage shelf, the top tray will protect items in the bottom tray from dew. Each tray spans 1/3 of the pier circumference (120 degrees on either a 8" or 10" diameter pier), so that you can construct a complete circular tray around the pier post with just three trays and three support bars. It is possible to employ up to six trays and three support bars, two complete levels around the post.
For 6" diameter pier post (such as is used with the Models 400 and 600 series mounts): although you can use the TRAY08 with the 6" pier, it will not fit flush against the post. This does not affect its function, however you are limited to one support bar and two (2) trays with this pier. Since the 400 and 600E mounts do not have a pier adapter that can remain permanently bolted to the pier post when removing the mount, you will have to remove TRAYSB each time you remove the mount from the pier. You may need a longer screw or hand knob.
For 800 Series Mounts on the 8" diameter pier post: since the 800 mount does not have a pier adapter that can remain permanently bolted to the pier post when removing the mount, you will have to remove TRAYSB each time you remove the mount from the pier. You may need to procure longer length screws or hand knobs.
