This page is hosted as my recommendation of Matt Horowitz, who with his colleague Lura Johnson form "Concerts & Cuisine".
Right: Chef Matt Horowitz at our Bösendorfer Piano Party on 9 September 2006. Matt was brought up in a restaurant setting that nurtured his immense love of food and creativity. Matthew's love of food was cultivated at an early age by his mother, master chef and Chinese restauranteur Rose Lee. He spent two years cooking with Four Seasons chefs at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he cooked for dignitaries such as Madeleine Albright. Matthew has developed a deeply personal and delicious style of cuisine in his private chefing business. Matthew's training has infused his Asian roots with a French-American bistro technique and ingredients. This results in his producing tantalizing creations including hors d'ouevres and light fare, complete meals catering to a variety of dietary preferences, and irresistible desserts. Matt is available for dinner parties, home weddings, rehearsal dinners, business functions and of course for their signature events - Concerts and Cuisine. He has been the caterer of choice for the Guarneri String Quartet, Leon Fleisher, Maria Lambros, the Weilerstein Trio, and the founders of Google. Events catered by Matt have spanned from intimate group of as few as four people, up to events for two hundred fifty people such as that at the Promenade Dancesport Facility this coming December 2006.
then you will love what he prepares for you! For additional reading: It should not be overlooked that Matthew is a talented musician in his own right. He is a Violinist who earned his Masters of Music at Rice University with Kathy Winkler, and BM at the University of Maryland at College Park with Daniel Heifetz. His current musical endeavors include serving as the Conductor of the Peabody String Ensemble and for the Bryn Mawr School for Girls Upper School Orchestra. He teaches privately at Loyola College and at Peabody Prep. One of his recent students was concertmaster of the all-state orchestra last year. Matthew has performed in concert with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra members including BSO's Principal Cellist Ilya Finkelshteyn and co-principal players Igor Yuzefovich (1st Violin) and Ivan Stefanovich (2nd Violin).
