Update October 28, 1999: We are sold out of the discontinued parts but you may still get a deal from a standard ST-8 owner who is interested in selling his or her standard ST-8 detector. Please check out the used detector list.

Kodak recently announced the KAF-0400 and KAF-1600 detectors that we use in the standard ST-7 and ST-8 cameras are being discontinued. These detectors are being replaced by the new enhanced KAF-0401E and KAF-1602E detectors which we use in the ST-7E and ST-8E cameras. Accordingly, as of the date of this announcement, SBIG will discontinue the standard version of the ST-7 and ST-8 cameras and will offer only the ST-7E and ST-8E cameras.
