  • Dr. Evil and Mini-Me must certainly be counted among the most notorious owners of the Bösendorfer Imperial piano. As seen in the New Line Cinema 1999 movie Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Dr. Evil and Mini-Me keep their Bösendorfer pianos at their secret island hideout.

It had been a guarded secret that in addition to being an evil genius bent on world domination, Dr. Evil is a talented pianist. The movie revealed for the first time that Bösendorfer GmbH had manufactured an Imperial Piano scaled down especially for Mini-Me. We assume when you have all the resources of an evil genius who can periodically threaten the world, then you can pretty much have anything you want. We have not been able to find out more information about either of these instruments (serial number, etc.) or who performs the services for these instruments on site.

P.S. Bösen is actually a word in German, it translates to English as “Evil”. Dorfer translates to “Villages”.
