Customers' STV Images of Comet Linear
"Just wanted to send you a photo of comet linear that I took on the night of July 22nd using my STV and my JMI NGT-18 telescope. I've definitely had a slight learning curve with the STV but am now getting it down to a science. Thanks for making such a great product. Sincerely, Mark Zilm"
"I received my STV about 1 month ago and I am very pleased with the performance. I am new to Astronomy and this is my first CCD camera. I am using the STV mainly to enhance what I see at the eyepiece from my moderately light polluted backyard observation site in the suburban hills of Kamloops B.C., Canada. My telescopes are the Nexstar 5 and Nexstar 8 which do not track that well but with the SBIG "track and accumulate" feature I am able to get good images without having to guide manually. I am enclosing an attachment of two raw (i.e. no special processing other than file conversion) JPEG images of comet Linear 30 minutes apart which I took with the STV on July 23/00 at 2234 and 2303 hrs Pacific time. Image (a) was 5 exposures at 10 seconds, image (b) was 6 exposures at 5 seconds. Considering that a poorly shielded street light was just 30 yards away and city lights were lighting up the sky from below I am really happy how the SBIG STV in effect gives me a bigger scope/darker skies."
