Leonid Meteors
Passing Through Ursa Major
Early AM 11/18/01 PST
Leonids captured with an
STV using an 8 mm f/1.3 video camera lens (C-mount). The STV head was fixed on a tripod and pointed at the big dipper. The STV was operating in continuous update mode, normal zoom, 2X gain, dark subtract on, exposure time of 10 seconds. Whenever a frame contained a meteor it was saved. This series contains 10 frames spanning about 5 minutes. Michael Barber / SBIG |
